Christ-Like Leadership Development Program
NLI introduced the Christ-Like Leadership Development (CLLD) program in 2002. The purpose of the "Christlike Leadership Development" (CLLD) program is to contribute to the formation of the lay Christina leaders in the context of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, through organizing Christian education among young people, raising awareness among them about their spiritual and cultural heritage, stimulation of active participation of young people in church life.
Program description.
The "Christlike Leadership Development" program consists of three phases.
- Phase 1: "Apostolic generation" course,
- Phase 2: "Following Jesus" Discipleship course,
- Phase 3: "Servant leadership" course
Program structure.
Phase 1: "Apostolic generation" course
The duration of the "Apostolic Generation" course is one year and three months (60 weeks), it is a series of meetings, one meeting per week, 2 hours each. The meetings are conducted by clergymen of the Armenian Apostolic Church, theologians, and graduates of the CLLD program.
Phase 2: "Following Jesus discipleship" course
Approximately 20-25 of the “Apostolic Generation” course participants will continue with this phase. The duration of the "Follow Jesus" discipleship course is nine months (32 weeks and 4 weeks for additional meetings with guest lecturers), it includes regular meetings once a week, lasting 2 hours, as well as active participation as volunteers in other programs and activities carried out by the organization under the direct supervision and support of the leaders.
Phase 3: "Service leadership" course
Approximately 10-15 of the “Following Jesus” course participants will continue with this phase. The duration of the course is one year (48 weeks), and the meetings are once a week, 2 hours long. Courses are taught by individual professors depending on the topic. During the course, young people take an active part in the programs implemented by the organization as volunteers, or at the direction of the organization, young people carry out voluntary activities in a church under the guidance of a church priest.
Program target groups (beneficiaries)
The target group of the program is students and young professionals. Students aged 18-35 studying in Yerevan universities, regardless of social status and gender, who want to gain knowledge about the Christian faith, the Bible, and the Mother Church, can participate in the program. The program will be implemented in the form of systematic meetings in Yerevan, but it will also include seminar pilgrimages to RA pilgrimage sites, participation in a church event, and participation in spiritual and cultural events.
After finishing the Christ-Like Leadership Development course the trainees may undertake a new project or coordinate a current one at NLI.
